Meet FMI employee, Ashley Pheiffer. As a business consultant, Ashley is the face of FMI, and plays a key role in building and maintaining FMI’s relationships with our trusted financial advisers. We chatted to Ashley about his role and life at FMI. Here’s what he had to say.

1. Tell us a little about yourself.

I am 31 years old. I’m married – no children yet. I love the outdoors – fishing, hunting, sports and any adventure activities. I’m a thrill-seeker and a bit of an adrenaline junkie. I struggle to sit still for too long and am a bit of a busybody.

2. When did you start working at FMI?

Back in March 2017.

3. Tell us a little about what your job involves.

I am a business developer, which means I make sure that the financial advisers I service are knowledgeable and understand the FMI product, philosophy and brand, as well as our mission.

I also need to be a support to their businesses by ensuring a smooth process from FMI, from the time they request a quote for their client up until the business is issued or accepted.

4. What do you love most about your job?

Although it’s always a bitter sweet moment, I love sitting in front of a client with their broker at claim stage, and we pay out a claim – because at this time I get to deliver on our brand promise, knowing that we’re assisting that person in their time of need, and that they have the best cover possible.

5. What do you love about working at FMI?

I love the fact that I know we genuinely have a great brand, product and services, and that I can offer this amazing product to advisers and their clients.

I appreciate the friendly, yet professional interactions with everyone at FMI. It’s always a positive experience and you are never just a number. This creates such an exceptional atmosphere and relationship-building opportunities. It also makes me look forward to going to work and I feel more motivated to push myself harder and to strive to help others.
